Southwark (London) Community Globe – add your voice!
The World Reimagined trail in London will consist of 10 Globe sculptures: 1 for each of the 9 themes of the Journey of Discovery – and one that is created in a unique collaboration between an artist and local people and communities – to speak to your voice, your experiences and your hopes and ambitions. After all, the work of making racial justice a reality begins with us, our families, our communities and our city. We hope that you will add your unique perspective, either by joining one of our workshops, or through the form at the bottom of this page.
“Every great dream begins with a dreamer.
Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience,
and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.”
Birungi’s art passionately embodies the beauty of the African diaspora with a focus on dance, nature and wellbeing. She takes inspiration from Ugandan classical Kiganda dance styles, flash dancing by The Nicholas Brothers and hiplet from Homer Bryant, interpreting these influences in her vibrant collages using layers of Ugandan batik fabrics and cutout card.
