Inspire Grants: Apply!
PLEASE NOTE THE INSPIRE GRANT PROGRAMME IS CURRENTLY CLOSED
The entire point of The World Reimagined is to create a moment and a platform that honours and supports the countless people and organisations who do the work of making racial equality a reality – and to share it with more people. And so we’ve developed the Inspire Programme – which invites you to host activities and events during The World Reimagined (13 August to 31 October 2022) which speak to our shared mission that we can showcase and promote far and wide.
We chose the word inspire deliberately – but it’s not about us, it’s about you and the work you do:
- For those long committed to the work of racial justice, you inspire with your expertise, commitment and impact.
- For those new to the mission and subject, you inspire with your openness and desire to step into the work and contribute.
Together, you show us that progress is possible. Hard, but possible.
Supported by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, we are delighted that one of the ways we can offer support is Money: We have a small grant-making pot available in each of our host cities.
This page describes what those grants are for, the information you need – and you can apply at the bottom of the page!
What grants are available?
- Partnership grants – £3,000. These are to support partnerships that bring together:
- a smaller, grassroots organisation with a larger organisation to connect audiences and support the growth of the smaller organisation; or
- an organisation doing racial justice work with one that is new to it, to broaden out the people who are involved in this work and share expertise.
- Micro-grants – £250-500: These are to make your existing or already planned activity a little easier and more possible. Open to individuals and organisations.
How do you apply? (At the bottom of this page!)
When?
- Applications are open until 23:59pm on 31 May 2022.
- We’ll let applicants know if they have been successful or not by the 24 June 2022,
What does an application involve?
We’re going to make the application as simple as possible for each type of grant.
All applications have to
- work towards an event or activity that will take place between 13 August – 31 October 2022.
- commit to the Spirit of The World Reimagined, which refers to the spirit and nature of the conversations and connections we hope to make.
For Micro-Grants, we’ll ask you to tell us briefly about:
- What you are planning to deliver
- When and where it will take place
- Why it is important
- What the goals are
- How many people you are hoping to engage
- What experience do you want them to have
- How you will make your event inclusive
- How much money you are applying for and how will you use it
- Your experience and/or expertise in doing this type of activity or event
For Partnership Grants, we’ll ask you to tell us about
- What you are planning to deliver
- Why it is important
- What the goals are (i) for the project itself; and (ii) for each partner
- What each partner brings to the table
- How many people you are hoping to engage and how you will engage them
- What experience do you want them to have
- How you will make your event inclusive
- How you are going to work together
- How you are going to spend the money (upload a simple budget)
- The timeline for your project
For each type of application, you will also be able to add attachments of material you think relevant.
Successful applicants may be asked to take part in our evaluation, which will be straightforward and not time intensive.
What happens if my application is not successful?
We unfortunately won’t be able to give grants to everybody, but we hope we will still be able to support:
- We are working with our host councils to identify other potential sources of funding for you in your city.
- You will still be able to take part in the workshops and promote your events and activities on The World Reimagined platforms.
